Our day centres are aimed at people with intellectual disabilities and are part of the occupational service of the Government of Catalonia. However, at the Associació Alba we have chosen to give them a broader and more open approach: our goal is to promote the inclusion of people in the community, facilitating their active participation in the social fabric of the towns and cities where they live.

To achieve this, we promote outdoor activities in collaboration with local organisations, schools and other groups. In addition, we offer adapted workshops and activities that foster skill development, improve autonomy and increase participants’ well-being.

We also encourage mobility between the different centres so that people can choose their personal pathways according to their interests.

The professional team is made up of social educators, psychologists, physiotherapists and community facilitators.

What defines us?

Taller Alba is the largest day centre of the organisation and offers a wide range of activities for personal development and social inclusion. It features a TEACCH space, specialized in supporting people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), where augmentative communication and activity anticipation are prioritized.

In addition, the centre places great importance on sport as a tool for inclusion and well-being, organizing various physical activities through the Alba Sports Club such as hiking, cycling, table tennis, swimming, or padel.
A wide variety of community activities are also promoted, making use of city facilities and resources such as the library, the Òmnia space, the Senior Citizens’ Centre, etc.

How to access the service?

Our centres are part of the Occupational Service of the Government of Catalonia, which means that to access them, it is necessary to have a recognized degree of intellectual disability and be referred by the Department of Social Rights.

If you would like more information about the access criteria or need help, you can contact us and we will support you throughout the process.
