Respite Service
The Respite Service is designed to support families who care for people with intellectual disabilities. This service allows users to be cared for either at home or in one of the facilities of Associació Alba, giving their families time to rest or to manage personal matters in occasional or emergency situations.
It is a flexible and tailored service that can provide support with daily life activities, transportation, or accompaniment to community resources, always with a designated professional.
Types of Support
- Occasional or emergency support → Care provided for 24 hours or during specific time slots, to respond to unexpected situations or occasional family needs. It can take place at home or in one of Alba’s services. (May or may not include overnight stay.)
- Support staff in the family environment → One-to-one individual support, where a professional accompanies the person with a disability at home, during leisure activities, or on community outings while the family is absent. (Does not include household tasks such as cleaning or cooking—only personal support.)
- Weekly and ongoing support → Service for recurring needs, such as support while family members are at work, accompaniment to activities, or personalized leisure.
