Multisensory Stimulation Services
A multisensory room is a space designed to stimulate the senses through light, sound, textures, and other interactive elements. These rooms are intended to provide sensory experiences tailored to each person's needs, promoting well-being, relaxation, or activation depending on the goals of each session. They are especially beneficial for people with intellectual disabilities, autism, neurological disorders, or sensory challenges, but can also be useful for anyone in need of a calm space with controlled stimulation.

Our Multisensory Spaces
At Associació Alba, we have two spaces equipped with multisensory rooms, located in the former Museum of Verdú and the La Bassa Community Space. These areas are adapted to offer sensory stimulation and relaxation sessions for people with diverse needs, always accompanied by specialized professionals or with the option to use them independently.
Alba’s multisensory rooms are equipped with specialized tools to offer personalized sensory experiences:
- Waterbeds for full-body relaxation.
- Light columns and fiber optics for visual and tactile stimulation.
- Immersive projections to work on attention and interaction.
- Fluorescent elements that encourage sensory exploration.
- Hugging cushions and other tactile elements that provide safety and comfort.
Each session is tailored to the individual needs of the person, with the possibility of working on relaxation, cognitive stimulation, communication, or simply enjoying a moment of calm and well-being.
How to access the service?
Our multisensory rooms are available to different groups:
- People from Alba’s resource centres, who use them regularly with sessions tailored to their needs. Students from Escola Alba, who access them as part of their educational and therapeutic plan.
- Individuals outside Alba, who can access the rooms privately.
Especially at the La Bassa Community Space, the multisensory rooms are open to everyone and can be used with a specialized professional or, after training, independently.
They help us prioritize our efforts and set future challenges.
