At Associació Alba, we understand culture and leisure as fundamental rights that must be exercised with freedom, access, and meaning. Through art, expression, and cultural participation, we strengthen self-esteem, promote inclusion, and build connections with the community. It's not just what we do, but how we do it: with drive, creativity, and a commitment to social transformation.

Why is culture important to us?

Alba’s culture and leisure area aims to ensure that all people, especially those with disabilities, mental health issues, or other situations of vulnerability, can:

  • Experience rich cultural opportunities as creators, spectators, or participants.

  • Feel recognized for their artistic and expressive talent.

  • Shift the social perspective on disability through art and presence in local cultural spaces.

  • Strengthen community and territorial ties from an inclusive and transformative perspective.

  • Contribute to a more accessible, participatory, and diverse cultural landscape.

We work with the conviction that culture is a powerful tool for inclusion, empowerment, and change.

Our most outstanding projects

Creative Connections
A collaborative creation project between people from Alba and professional artists. It brings together disciplines such as dance, photography, poetry, graphic art, or folk culture, breaking down barriers and making visible talents that often remain hidden.

Sardines & Marinada
A festival that gives visibility to musical and performing arts projects with an inclusive and transformative spirit. It promotes new narratives and participation in public spaces.

Our Own Artistic Spaces
We have two physical spaces for artistic development: the Espai d’Art Singular in Guissona and the former Museum of Verdú, as well as a strong commitment to using public space as a natural stage for cultural expression.

Apropa Cultura
We are a partner organization in the Apropa Cultura program, an initiative that promotes universal access to culture and enables people in vulnerable situations to enjoy shows, concerts, exhibitions, and activities in the country’s main cultural venues. Thanks to Apropa Cultura, every year dozens of people from Alba can:

  • Access plays, concerts, museums, and festivals under adapted and accessible conditions.

  • Enjoy culture as a space for well-being, emotion, and connection with others.

  • Actively participate in the cultural life of the region, breaking down economic, physical, and social barriers.

This alliance reinforces our commitment to the right to culture for all and helps us achieve one of our main goals: to live culture with drive, from a place of equality and inclusion.

Figures help us measure the impact of our actions.
They help us prioritize our efforts and set future challenges.
