Support Groups
The Family Support Groups are meeting spaces where parents, siblings, and grandparents of people with disabilities or mental health challenges can share experiences, resolve doubts, and receive information about various aspects of intellectual disability and mental health.
These groups are designed to provide emotional support and mutual aid, as well as specific training on different topics through regular meetings that foster a space of trust and collective learning.

Our Support Groups
Currently, the Alba Association runs three active groups, each tailored to the needs of different communities:
School Families Group → Aimed at families with children and young people with disabilities attending the Alba School. It offers a space to share the growth journey and learn about tools and resources for support. (Closed group, no new members can join throughout the year.)
Occupational Center Families Group → Designed for family members of adults with intellectual disabilities who attend Alba's occupational centers. It is a space to talk about autonomy, future planning, and necessary supports. (Closed group, no new members can join throughout the year.)
Mental Health Families Group → Open to anyone living with a family member with a mental health issue who needs to share experiences and find support. (This group is open and new participants can join at each session.)
Frequency → Meetings are held monthly or biweekly, depending on the group.
The groups consist of up to 10 people, are led by an external professional, and are open to all Alba families.
The service is partially funded by DINCAT and the Department of Social Rights. Additional funding sources are being sought to minimize the cost for families.
